During the global AI summit hosted by the UK, Minister of State (MoS) for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, had an unexpected encounter with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. Chandrasekhar shared an intriguing fact from this encounter on the microblogging platform X.
In their brief meeting, Elon Musk disclosed to Chandrasekhar that his son, from his union with Shivon Zilis, bears the middle name “Chandrasekhar”. This distinctive middle name serves as a tribute to the esteemed Nobel physicist, Professor S. Chandrasekhar, known for his groundbreaking contributions to astrophysics, particularly in the study of massive star evolution, which has left an enduring legacy in the scientific community.
The Global AI Summit serves as a platform where policymakers, investors, and innovators converge to discuss the current state of AI, investment opportunities, commitments, and governance.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar is representing India at this two-day summit. During the event, he highlighted that India has substantially increased its digital economy share from around 4.5% of the total GDP to the targeted 20% by 2025-26, presently standing at 11% .
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, is an attendee for both days of the summit. He commended the timing of the event, emphasizing the pressing nature of existential risks given the pace of technological advancement. He also lauded the prime minister for hosting such an essential gathering.
