BCCI presents golden tickets for upcoming World Cup, announces sale of more 400,000 tickets in the next phase
The golden ticket is probably a special VIP pass for certain celebrities to attend the World Cup games.
BCCI has presented Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan with golden tickets for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup under their ‘Golden Ticket for India Icons’ programme through which they will present golden tickets to certain celebrities and national heroes. The golden ticket in all likeliness going to be a special pass that would grant these celebrities VIP access to attend world cup games.
BCCI posted a tweet sharing the news of Jay Shah presenting Sachin Tendulkar with the golden ticket, that was captioned, “An iconic moment for cricket and the nation! As part of our “Golden Ticket for India Icons” programme, BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah presented the golden ticket to Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin_rt.”
“A symbol of cricketing excellence and national pride, Sachin Tendulkar’s journey has inspired generations. Now, he’ll be part of the @ICC @cricketworldcup 2023, witnessing the action LIVE,” it further read.
BCCI had earlier on the 6th of September announced that after discussions with state associations, they are going to sell 400,000 more tickets for the highly anticipated tournament to accommodate as many fans as possible. They said in their statement, “After discussions with the hosting state associations, the BCCI has announced the release of approximately 400,000 tickets for the highly anticipated tournament. This measure is aimed at accommodating as many passionate cricket fans as possible, ensuring their participation in this historic event.
Cricket enthusiasts from around the world can now secure their seats to witness the cricketing extravaganza of the year. Fans are encouraged to act promptly to secure their tickets, as tickets are expected to be in high demand, given the immense global interest in the event.
The general sale of tickets for all matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will commence from 8:00 PM IST onwards on September 8, 2023. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the official ticketing website at https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Fans will be notified of the further sale of tickets in the next phase in due course.”
The BCCI further said that it acknowledges that the fans are the heartbeat of the tournament and their passion, engagement and contribution is pivotal to the success of the World Cup.
