Karni Sena Chief murdered in Jaipur; Lawrence Bishnoi gang takes tesponsibility

In a shocking act of violence, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, president of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was assassinated in his own home in Jaipur by unidentified assailants on Tuesday. In the wake of this tragedy, Rajasthan’s communities, including Karni Sena itself, have declared a state-wide ‘bandh’ on Wednesday to protest the murder of their leader.

“Not a single criminal will be spared. Criminal gangs flourished due to the previous government. As soon as the BJP government is formed, we will rein in it,” Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat told India Today in response to this heartbreaking incident.

An hour later, Rohit Godara, a gang member of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for this assassination via Facebook. Authorities are currently investigating the claim.

Senior officials, including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Member of Parliament Diya Kumari, have publicly stated their grief over this shocking crime and have appealed for social harmony and peace. They have reaffirmed their commitment to making Rajasthan a safe place for all citizens.

Investigation and Ongoing Protests

• The murder was captured on CCTV with two men seen firing multiple shots at the Karna Sena chief.
• The attackers have been identified and one was killed in a crossfire.
• The assailants gained entry to Gogamedi’s house via a security guard and conversed with him for 10 minutes before launching their attack.
• Forensic evidence has been collected from the crime scene, including an abandoned SUV and a bag containing a liquor bottle and empty glasses.

In addition to Gogamedi’s tragic demise, Ajit Singh – a guard present at the scene of the incident, is currently in critical condition in the ICU with serious injuries from the gunfire.

In Rohit Godara’s alarming Facebook post, he warns, “Brothers, today Sukhdev Gogamedi was murdered. We take full responsibility…he used to help our enemies, thus strengthening them. As far as our enemies are concerned, they should keep their bier ready at the doorstep of their house.”

The killing has sparked significant public outrage. Karni Sena supporters and other community members stormed the streets, resorting to roadblocks in Mansarovar, to express their outrage and demand justice for the victims.
