Delhi to Jaipur to become a 2 hour journey with upcoming electric cable highway

Nitin Gadkari Unveils Game-Changing Plan to Slash Travel Time, Boost Energy Efficiency, and Save Fuel Costs on the Delhi-Jaipur Route

The central government is set to revolutionize travel between Jaipur and Delhi by significantly reducing the travel time to just two hours through the introduction of electric cable highways. Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed this ambitious plan, emphasizing its energy efficiency. The electric cable highways on this route will supply electric energy directly to vehicles, allowing them to complete the journey in a mere two hours. Gadkari highlighted that this initiative not only aims to save travel time but also intends to cut fuel costs by an impressive 30 percent. He expressed confidence in the project’s success, citing past achievements such as the Delhi-Meerut journey time reduction.

Gadkari shared his vision for the project, emphasizing its potential impact on people’s lives. He recounted the skepticism faced when initially proposing the reduction of the journey from Delhi to Meerut to just 45 minutes. Today, he proudly revealed that people now travel from Meerut to Delhi merely for a taste of the capital’s ice cream. To further illustrate his ambitions, Gadkari expressed his desire to connect Jaipur and Delhi through this efficient transportation, allowing people to experience the culinary delights of both cities, such as Delhi’s ice cream and Jaipur’s Kachori.

Highlighting the political context, Gadkari attributed the success of such transformative projects to the support given by the people to the Bharatiya Janata Party, which holds a full majority in the country. This political endorsement, according to Gadkari, has empowered the government to undertake innovative and impactful initiatives for the benefit of the citizens.

Moving on to the Electric Cable Highway concept, it represents a forward-thinking strategy to enhance the energy efficiency of roads. These highways offer a unique solution by enabling moving vehicles to receive electric energy through overhead power lines. The primary beneficiaries of this initiative are expected to be electric vehicle users, as these e-highways will supply electric energy directly to their batteries while they are on the move. The significance of this advancement lies in its potential to increase the overall range of electric vehicles, addressing concerns related to range anxiety among users.

Shifting the focus to the international arena, it’s worth noting that Germany pioneered this technology in 2019. The country already boasts electric highways designed to supply energy to hybrid trucks while they are in motion. This international precedent serves as a testament to the feasibility and effectiveness of electric cable highways, providing assurance to the Indian government’s initiative.
