Spokesperson from Google stated  “As we’ve said, we’re responsibly investing in our company’s biggest priorities and the significant opportunities ahead, a number of our teams made changes to become more efficient and work better, remove layers and align their resources to their biggest product priorities.”

The reorganization as Google plans to shift has impacted several teams, including IT technical units, a Python developer team, technical infrastructure, security foundation, app platforms, core developers, and certain engineering roles. Additionally, the cuts are reported to have affected the governance and protected data group.

As per a reported email, Asim Husain, who holds the position of Vice President in the Google Developer Ecosystem, stated “We intend to maintain our current global footprint while also expanding in high-growth global workforce locations so that we can operate closer to our partners and developer communities.”

India has become an appealing choice for international tech firms due to its abundant and cost-effective talent pool known for its high quality.

Google has joined other tech giants in leveraging its India offices, with a focus on relocating technical and product-oriented roles. Meanwhile, Apple is planning to transfer at least half of its current supply chain from China to India and aims to generate 500,000 non-technical direct jobs in India within the next three years.
