25 people shot dead and 50+ injured in mass shooting in US at a Walmart, local bar and a bowling alley

US now averaging out at 2 mass shooting everyday this year.

At least 22 people were killed and 50 to 60 wounded on Wednesday in mass shootings at multiple locations including a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, Maine, U.S., NBC News reported, citing a Lewiston police source.

The Lewiston Police Department, via their Facebook page, has identified Robert Card, 40, as a person of interest in the mass shooting at both the bar and the bowling alley, cautioning the public to consider him “armed and dangerous.” Law enforcement had earlier shared three images of an unidentified suspect holding what appeared to be a semi-automatic rifle, along with a photo of a white SUV, seeking assistance from the community in identifying either.

As per ABC News, the shooting spree unfolded across a bowling alley, a local bar, and a Walmart distribution center.

Two anonymous law enforcement officials revealed to the Associated Press that investigators were still in the process of examining the crime scenes and gathering evidence.

In response to an active shooter, police and first responders arrived at the Sparetime Recreation bowling alley at around 7:15 pm local time. Subsequently, they received reports of another shooting at the Schemengees Bar & Grille, as reported by the Sun Journal, a local newspaper.

At 8:15 pm, another shooting incident was reported at a nearby Walmart distribution center.

On Wednesday evening, the White House issued a statement saying, “The President has been briefed on what’s known so far about the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine and will continue to receive updates.”

Governor Janet Mills posted on [platform not specified] that she was aware of the situation and urged “all people in the area to follow the direction of State and local enforcement. I will continue to monitor the situation and remain in close contact with public safety officials.”
