LinkedIn presents it’s 8th annual LinkedIn top companies list 

“Whether it’s launching upskilling initiatives to accelerate the AI proficiency of their professionals or offering flexible working arrangements, these are the companies leading the way in attracting professionals as well as retaining them in our ever-changing world of work,” Pooja Chhabria says, a LinkedIn career expert.

The LinkedIn Top Companies List (TCL) has returned with a list of 25 top workspaces with over 5,000 employees. The list is compiled using a methodology that uses LinkedIn data to rank companies based on eight different factions. According to LinkedIn, these eight factions are: “Ability to advance; skills growth; company stability; external opportunity; company affinity; gender diversity; educational background and employee presence in the country.” To be eligible for this list, companies considered must have at least 5,000 employees globally and at least 500 in India as of December, 2023.

The list compiles an insight on the top locations for these companies in India, the skills they require,  the designations they seek and the sectors they deal in. Here are the top 5 companies on this list to look out for:

1. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

TCS features on the top of this list for a second consecutive year. Founded over a century ago, it is a consulting and business solution firm providing IT services. It’s top locations are Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and the most common designation it scouts for is System Engineer, Information Technology Analyst and Software Engineer. The skills it looks for in it’s candidates is usually around the realm of IT, Engineering and Consulting like Enterprise Software, Data Storage Technologies, Software Testing. 

2. Accenture

Accenture is a global professional services firm. It has a significant presence in India’s major technology hubs – Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It routinely seeks candidates in positions of Programming Analysts, Software Engineers, and Application Development Analysts. Accenture supports firms in sectors such as aerospace, banking, healthcare, high-tech, and chemicals.

3. Cognizant

Cognizant, established in 1994, focuses on India’s major IT hubs, including Hyderabad, Chennai, and the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area. The skillset recruiters for this company seek involve Data Storage Technologies, Enterprise Software, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Recently, Cognizant inaugurated a new centre in Bhubaneswar, expected to employ 5,000 associates within the next two years, further solidifying its commitment to expanding its operations in India.

4. Macquarie Group

The Macquarie Group, with its main office in Australia, stands as a formidable entity within the Delhi-NCR and Mumbai regions. The primary areas of employment for Macquarie Group in India encompass Business Development, Finance, and Information Technology. It is the umbrella organization for subsidiaries like Delaware Investments, Southern Water, Altafiber, Bingo Industries, and Roadchef and spans a variety of sectors, including asset management, wealth management, leasing and asset financing, and commodity trading.

5. Morgan Stanley 

Morgan Stanley, an American multinational investment bank, primarily dabbles in Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. It is also the company behind Solium, Eaton Vance, Shareworks, Graystone Consulting, and Metalmark Capital. Morgan Stanley’s portfolio is as diverse as it is dynamic; from wealth management to sales and trading, and from strategic investment ventures to comprehensive investment management.
