Japan steps up its moon exploration efforts

Japan is stepping up its moon exploration efforts with the release of the latest spacecraft XRISM and SLIM.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is gearing up for a significant milestone as the X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) spacecraft, along with the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM), is scheduled for liftoff on August 26th.

XRISM (X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission) is a powerful X-ray telescope that will be used to examine the new, lively regions of the universe, collectively with black holes and neutron stars. It will also be used to take a look at the moon’s atmosphere and surface. SLIM (Small Lunar Impactor) is a small, lander. It can be used to test new technologies for upcoming missions. It will also be used to accumulate records of the moon’s surface. 

The launch of XRISM and SLIM is a major milestone for Japan’s exploration program. It can also be used to acquire records on the moon’s surface. These spacecraft will provide treasured statistics for Japan’s future missions, including a planned lunar base. 

XRISM
