Google Maps on Android now offers a built-in live location sharing feature similar to WhatsApp. This allows you to share your real-time location directly through Google Maps without needing additional apps. Both parties need to add each other on Google Contacts for this feature to work.
How to Use Google Maps Live Location Sharing
Sharing your location via Google Maps is easy:
- Open the Google Maps app and log in to your Google account.
- Search for the contact or access their profile through the “Your places” section.
- Tap the contact’s name and select “Share location.”
- Choose the duration for sharing, whether for a specific time or indefinitely.
- Confirm your selection to start sharing your live location.
- To stop sharing, go back to the contact profile and tap “Stop sharing location.”
