Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti hai! Fans troll Virat Kohli as he travels in a private jet
Virat Kohli has normally been an advocate for environmental causes and no-pollution Diwali.
Virat Kohli, one of the best cricket players and one of the richest active cricketers has found himself amidst a new controversy after he shared pictures of his travel from West Indies to India in a private jet which as usual went viral.
In his Instagram post, Kohli expressed gratitude to the global aircraft charter provider, Air Charter Service, and aviator Abu Patel for arranging the flight, which also raised a question amongst the minds of his fans, ‘whether Virat Kohli does own a private jet?’
Upon just a simple Google search, we can find multiple articles from various news outlets which claim that he does own a private jet which is shown in an older post along with his wife Anushka Sharma which dates January 2019 during the tour of Australia and New Zealand which suggested that the jet was Kohli’s ‘Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign,’ which reportedly costs around INR 125 crores.
However, during an advertisement shoot with Puma India in December 2021, Virat Kohli explicitly DENIED being the owner of any private jet.
The biggest reason for people trolling him is that Virat Kohli is an active advocate for environmental causes. Virat Kohli has been involved in the ‘Go Green’ initiative which is taken by IPL team Royal Challengers Banglore since 2011 where RCB has played one home match each season wearing green jerseys to raise awareness about a “greener and sustainable” planet. He has often been an advocate for reducing carbon footprint where he has suggested celebrating a no-pollution Diwali and has also taken a stand against public littering and waste.
This has caused people to call him a hypocrite as private jets are known for their significant carbon footprint and him using private jets for travelling is contrary to everything that he said and did in the past. Reports suggest that a single private jet can emit two metric tons of carbon dioxide in just one hour, making them much more polluting than commercial planes per passenger.
