PM Modi’s plan to connect all Indian cities with Vande Bharat

It’s indeed a momentous day for Indian citizens as Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled his ambitious plans for a nationwide high-speed rail network. This visionary initiative promises to transform India’s public transit system and bring a new era of connectivity to the country.

India boasts approximately 4,000 cities, including 300 towns with populations exceeding 100,000 residents. What’s even more fascinating is that seven of these cities have populations exceeding 30 million. The remarkable news is that within just a few short years, the majority of cities and towns across the nation will become accessible via the high-speed Vande Bharat Express. This monumental leap forward is set to create a seamless connectivity network that will benefit millions of people.

Vande Bharat Expansion 

It was an auspicious occasion this Sunday, when PM Modi inaugurated nine new Vande Bharat trains in the country. Accomplished in a virtual ceremony, these launches spanned across 11 states: Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Kerala and Gujarat. These trains will significantly enhance the connectivity between various tourist and pilgrimage centers. 

The newly introduced Vande Bharat trains boast world-class amenities. PM Modi made note of the rapid progress the country is making in infrastructure. Symbolizing the new enthusiasm in India, these trains evidently mirror the rising aspirations of the people. 

“The speed and scale of infrastructure development in the country is matching the aspirations of 140 crore Indians,” PM Modi said.

The patronage for these high-speed trains has been growing exponentially. The PM noted the appreciating numbers, citing that over 1.11 crore passengers have utilized the services of the 25 Vande Bharat trains till date. The fleet has now grown to include 34 trains of this kind. 

Seamless Transit Like Never Before 

You no longer need to worry about those long and tiring journeys. Every city, regardless of how distant it may be, is set to be connected. This means that moving from one city to another would be as smooth as you have always wished. No city too far, no place out of reach. With all cities interlinked, commutation across the country will be smoother and easier than ever before. 

Revolutionizing Indian Railways 

While addressing the gathering, PM Modi criticized the past governments for not investing adequately in the railway sector. He acknowledged that the modernization of the sector is now progressing on mission mode. The reach of Vande Bharat trains is providing a major boost to tourism in India. Safe and swift journeys are expected to stimulate tourism and enhance economic activities in tourist destinations. 

“The swift and safe journey will spur tourism and increase economic activities across areas in and around the tourist places,” PM Modi stated.

Stimulus for Local Economies 

More than just a transportation project, this initiative is seen as a substantial boost to the local economies. The enhanced connectivity is certain to stimulate business activities. It is expected to fuel tourism, boost local markets, and even create direct and indirect employment. So, while you enjoy a comfortable ride, you’ll also be part of a process that strengthens the backbone of the economy. 

Contributing to Women’s Empowerment 

PM Modi emphasized the key role of railways in women’s empowerment. Many railway stations across the country are run by women functionaries. With regards to the government’s larger role in railways, he pointed out that the current government has increased the railway budget eight times compared to what it was till 2014. 

Modernization 

The Prime Minister reiterated that India is on the path to being developed. Therefore, it is paramount to modernize our railway stations too. He unveiled plans for the redevelopment of more than 500 major railway stations across the country. These revamped stations will be called “Amrit Bharat Stations”, reflecting the identity of the new India.

The Vande Bharat Express isn’t just a train; it’s a symbol of India’s leap into the future. The modern design and top-notch features of these trains take the passenger experience to a new level. This infrastructure upgrade sets a new standard that puts India on the global railways map. With the Vande Bharat Express, India is poised to redefine the way the world perceives its public transit system
