Lord Balaji at the Tirumala hill shrine has reportedly accumulated assets with a net worth estimated at close to Rs 3 lakh crore, surpassing the market capitalization of major Indian stock market-listed companies like TATA Motors, Nestle, and Bajaj Finserv. This remarkable valuation of the deity’s assets showcases the immense wealth associated with Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

According to a white paper released by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in 2022, the net worth of Lord Venkateswara Swamy’s assets was initially stated at Rs 2.5 lakh crore. However, subsequent reports suggest that this worth may have surged to nearly Rs 3 lakh crore as of recent times, indicating a substantial increase in the value of the shrine’s assets over a short period.

The revenue generated at the sacred hill shrine from devotees’ offerings and various other sources significantly surpasses the annual incomes of Indian cricket icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. The Hundi at Tirumala, where devotees make direct offerings, hair tonsured from devotees, interest from fixed deposits, and substantial donations to various TTD-run trusts, registers an impressive annual income of Rs 1,400 crore.

Dharma Reddy, the executive officer of TTD, recently disclosed the details of Lord Balaji’s assets. These assets include a substantial deposit of 11,225 kg of gold in various banks, along with 1.2 tons of golden ornaments dedicated to the presiding deity, and an additional 10 tons of silver ornaments.

Apart from the valuable metals, the shrine boasts significant immovable assets, including 6,000 acres of forest land within TTD limits and properties spanning 7,636 acres across 75 locations. These holdings comprise 1,226 acres of agricultural land and 6,409 acres of non-agricultural land, consolidating the extensive real estate portfolio associated with the shrine.
