Japan offers tourist e-Visas for Indians; here’s how to apply

Effective from April 1, 2024, eligible individuals will be able to apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) to facilitate their travel to the country. The era of waiting in line for physical visa stickers is over. The introduction of the eVisa system has made the process more streamlined, enabling individuals to apply for visas electronically via Japan Visa Application Centers managed by VFS Global.

How to apply for Japan eVisa

- Showing the Notice: Travelers can display the electronic “visa issuance notice” by scanning the barcode with their device and entering the necessary information. A countdown timer shows the notice’s validity.
