Abu Dhabi prepares to launch a new eSports island, expected to cost $280 million

The United Arab Emirates is steadily strengthening its reputation as a center for technological and entertainment advancements, highlighted by the creation of a dedicated esports island in Abu Dhabi. This project emphasizes the region’s increasing importance in the worldwide esports scene, symbolizing the fusion of digital entertainment and luxury destination.

True Gamers, a renowned international network in the competitive gaming field, is leading this innovative venture. With a financial commitment exceeding $280 million, the initiative is anticipated to not only enhance the esports infrastructure but also yield economic gains, with a predicted return on investment within ten years. The procurement of funds for this groundbreaking project involves continuous discussions with prospective investors eager to participate in this forward-thinking venture.

Abu Dhabi is on track to host a groundbreaking esports hub, with an estimated cost of US$280 million. This facility is planned to accommodate a wide range of gaming and technology-based activities, as it embraces the expanding esports industry.

The esports hub is projected to be the ultimate destination for both established and emerging teams with top-notch facilities. These include a professional training area equipped with high-end computers, relaxation zones, and nutrition plans designed for optimal gamer performance. The hub also aims to foster young talent by offering specialized esports camps for children.

Visitors can look forward to exciting attractions such as an immersive in-game inspired parachute jump entry.

The hub is made up of four distinct areas, each with its own unique offerings:

  • Tech and Business Sector – A lively center that provides modern workspaces, incubators for startups equipped with the latest technology, and creative animation studios.
  • Esports Stadium – A state-of-the-art arena that can accommodate international esports competitions, digital showcases, and industry gatherings. The versatile space is equipped with everything needed for all types of gaming events, including a computer club, simulation areas, console zones, and a dedicated space for live streaming.
  • Professional Training Camps – These facilities are designed for esports athletes and are customized to provide intensive training in preparation for tournaments.
  • Luxury Gaming Accommodation – The resort features 200 premium rooms, each equipped with high-end computers, a wellness area, swimming pool, and beach access for visitors to enjoy.

To ensure an ideal training ecosystem, the project’s design was refined through partnerships with global esports teams. A comprehensive six-month survey gathered input from over 100 organizations, representing teams from diverse regions, including Northern and Southern America, Eastern Europe, and the MENA area, to ensure a broad range of insights.Notable esports entities such as Virtus.Pro, Team Spirit, and BetBoom contributed significantly to shaping the concept by providing their expert opinions on what makes the perfect training environment.

Vlad Belyanin, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of the company developing the island, has expressed his belief that the esports hub will be an unmatched model of leisure and competitive gaming excellence.
