Chandrayaan-3 shares fresh images of the Moon, Prakash Raj mocks moon mission

The lander is scheduled to touch down on the Moon's south polar region at 6:04 pm on Wednesday.

Chandrayaan-3’s lander shared recent photos taken by it, identifying some of the prominent craters on its far side which always faces away from the Earth. The images were taken by a camera tasked to help the Vikram lander find a safe landing area ahead of its historic touchdown. Chandrayaan-3 is expected to land on the unexplored lunar south-polar region on Wednesday at around 6:04 PM.

“Here are the images of Lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area — without boulders or deep trenches — during the descent is developed at SAC/ISRO,” said Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on X.

The far side of the Moon is the lunar hemisphere which always faces away from Earth due to the synchronous rotation in the Moon’s orbit. If the landing is successful, India will be the fourth country to land on the moon after the US, Russia and China and is only the second country after China to land on the far side of the moon.

Meanwhile, actor Prakash Raj has posted a tweet mocking the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission which shared images of the moon. The actor shared a cartoon of a man wearing a vest and a lungi and pouring tea and captioned it “First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander”. His tweet read, “BREAKING NEWS:- First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander Wowww #justasking (sic).”

Users have started trolling the actor for his tweet and have said that his blind hatred for Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made him lose the ability to see the achievement made by ISRO. They also shared tweets about how Chandrayaan-3 is a matter of India’s pride and not a tool for his ‘blind hatred’. Many users have also felt that he shared the post for his ‘blind hatred for BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’.
