Activist receives death threats and abuses after raising questions about NGO Hemkunt Foundation’s ‘shady approach’
Social Media influencers, Youtubers and other celebrities have started their own charities on donating to others and they are no doubt liable to questions but interestingly, these questioned get shunned down due to high political approach of these 'NGO's'
As several NGOs have started appearing on across media through PRs, advertisement and donations worth crores, they are definitely going to raise eyebrows and questions from the public regarding where the money is being spent similar to the PM CARES Fund.
One such video went viral on Instagram where activist Yuvraj Pokharna asked about the legitimacy of Hemkunt Foundation after he donated to them and tried to avail their services for a family member in need. Especially when this organization claims to be working extensively to provide oxygen and other relief material to the Covid-19 patients in and around Delhi.
After this video went viral, may netizens not only abused the activist for asking questions but even death threats from a particular community started flaring in (as seen in the comments which are still there). Interestingly any common citizen would ask such questions after all crores of money is no joke while the foundation is spending hefty amounts just for their Brand’s PR.
Later in his stories Yuvraj asked a simple question, “is asking doubts wrong?” “If a person has donated to a certain organization, do they have no right to ask where the money went?”
It is also been alleged that many such organizations and NGOs are breaking FCRA regulations by receiving undeclared foreign funds illegally, however no investigations have taken place yet.
