Congress to hire 5 lakh ‘Social Media warriors’ to counter BJP’s IT Cell

Congress has understood how important the role of social media (congress IT cell) is in today’s era. This is the reason why after BJP IT cell, the Congress party will soon prepare an army of ‘Social Media Warriors’ for countering opposition.

Sources have told India Today TV that the Congress will announce a helpline number and dedicated social media pages to recruit five lakh members on Monday.

After back-to-back electoral losses in two previous Lok Sabha polls, the Congress seems to have learnt its lessons and realized the crucial role played by social media platforms in swaying public opinion and mood.

In the coming days, the Congress will have 5 lakh members who will be used to send the party’s message to every corner of the country. To bring this work to the ground, the party will soon work to recruit 50 thousand officials, for whose help the remaining 4.5 lakh social media warriors will be deployed.

The Congress source further said that during the Corona epidemic, the digital campaign of the Congress Party has got some success. The party has done well on social media- Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.

A campaign called ‘Speak up’ was started by the Congress Party in which different leaders of the Congress Party were seen having opinions of the party on different issues. This Congress campaign got more success than expected, which inspired the party to make more of its edge on the digital platform.

Now it would be interesting to see how Congress IT cell counters BJP IT Cell who has been in the game for a long while and has an experience of moulding social media narratives in their support.
