UPSSF Takes Over Security of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

The Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF) is gearing up to assume responsibility for the security of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. To ensure comprehensive protection for the temple, the state government has authorized the creation of various positions within the UPSSF. These include five commandants, five deputy commandants, 25 assistant commandants, 219 platoon commanders, 853 head constables, 3,219 constables, 340 constable drivers, and other supporting roles. The first batch of 270 UPSSF personnel has already arrived in Ayodhya. However, the official handover of security from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who have been guarding the temple thus far, has not yet been finalized.

Transition to New Security System

The UP Police officials have not yet confirmed the exact date when the UPSSF will formally take over the security of the Ram Temple from the PAC and CRPF. However, once the transition is complete, UPSSF will be responsible for securing the “red zone” within the Ram Temple complex, encompassing about 108 acres. The CRPF will be stationed in the isolation zone, where the idol of Ram Lalla is installed. This strategic positioning will ensure comprehensive security coverage for the entire temple premises.

Specialized Training for UPSSF

In the initial phase of their deployment, UPSSF personnel will undergo specialized training. This training will encompass various aspects, including behavior management and familiarization with the temple’s security protocols. Additionally, they will be prepared to manage and handle the anticipated influx of pilgrims and visitors to the temple. This rigorous training is crucial to ensure the safety of all individuals at the temple and maintain order during crowded periods.

Role of CRPF and Gradual PAC Withdrawal

While UPSSF assumes primary responsibility for temple security, a contingent of the CRPF will continue to be deployed in support. The PAC’s presence will be gradually reduced over time. UPSSF’s Formation and Training

On Thursday, a high-level meeting took place involving top police officials, administrative officers, and members of the permanent security committee of the Ram Janmbhoomi. Discussions also revolved around the implementation of the new security system, emphasizing the importance of a foolproof security plan for the Ram Temple.

The Chief Minister recently visited Ayodhya to oversee the progress of the Ram Temple’s development and construction.
