UP gears up for a bright Diwali, Dhanteras, and Dussehra with uninterrupted power supply

CM Yogi Adityanath's vision for festival joy – Electricity without interruption!

The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, is committed to ensuring a continuous supply of electricity to people across the state during the upcoming festivals of Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali. This decision aims to provide uninterrupted power to the citizens of Uttar Pradesh during these important celebrations.

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, led by Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal, the Chairman, has taken the necessary steps to make this vision a reality. Dr. Goyal has affirmed that uninterrupted electricity will be provided to the state for these major festivals.

In preparation for the ongoing Navratri festival, strict directives have been issued to improve electricity distribution throughout the state. The goal is to ensure that all areas receive electricity according to a predefined schedule. To achieve this, officials responsible for electricity distribution have been instructed to maintain a continuous power supply from sunset to sunrise.

Various key figures within the electricity sector, including managing directors of Distribution Companies (Discoms), chief engineers, and officials of the Electricity Corporation, have been specifically tasked with ensuring electricity supply to Shakti Peethas and religious places in accordance with the state government’s objectives.

Moreover, officials are urged to exercise vigilance in their respective areas and swiftly address any disruptions in electricity supply at the local level to minimize inconveniences. This responsiveness is vital to ensure the smooth flow of power during these festivities.

The Chairman has stressed the importance of taking all necessary precautionary measures to enhance safety. This includes addressing issues such as dilapidated or hanging wires and cables, which can pose safety hazards. Complaints related to voltage fluctuations and low voltage should also be addressed promptly to maintain a stable power supply.

In the event of unexpected power breakdowns, it is advised to proactively organize an adequate number of repair teams to restore power supply swiftly. This rapid response to power outages is crucial to minimize disruptions during the festivals.

Additionally, the government has set up toll-free numbers for receiving complaints related to electricity supply. These complaints should be resolved promptly to ensure that citizens’ concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

To further streamline the process, instructions have been issued to establish special control rooms at both the Discom and district levels. These control rooms will oversee and coordinate all arrangements to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festivals.

The government’s commitment to safety is evident as it directs officers to conduct on-site inspections in areas where processions or gatherings for idol immersion are expected. This proactive approach will enhance the entire electrical system, reducing the risk of electrical accidents and creating a safe environment for public events.
