BJP’s ally JDU adds new member to ” tukde-tukde ” gang; calls people who drink alcohol non-Indians

Bihar Chief Minister and BJP ally Nitish Kumar called people who drink alcohol " non-Indias ", " mahapaapi ", and " maha ayogya " during a debate in the state assembly.

Anti-nationalism is the flavor and buzzword of Indian politics in the current era with whoever disagreeing from the policies of the government being labeled as part of the infamous and potentially separatist ” tukde-tukde ” gang from JNU by calling them as anti-nationals and non-Indians.

Defending the policy of liquor ban in Bihar, Chief Minister and BJP’s ally Nitish Kumar said that those people who drink alcohol are” not-Indians ” and ” biggest sinners-mahapaapi.”

He made these statements during a debate in the assembly for an amendment to the state’s anti-liquor law which proposes to make the law less stringent for first-time offenders. Courts in Bihar have been clogged by cases under the anti-prohibition law and recently even the SC had expressed concerns regarding the same. The new amendment replaces imprisonment with a fine for first-time offenders failing which they will have to undergo simple one-month imprisonment.

In his speech invoking Gandhi, he said that people who go against Bapu’s principle of not drinking alcohol are ” not Indians “, ” mahapaapi “, and ” maha ayogya. ” He further insulted and morally policed alcohol lovers by saying ” yogya to woh ho hi nahi sakte…unke liye koi sahanubhuti nahi. ” Gandhi, despite being considered liberal by contemporary historians Gandhi had some conservative thoughts on issues like caste, non-vegetarianism, and alcohol. He wanted a total prohibition of alcohol.

Interestingly, alcohol is available in India’s defense institutions via the army canteen at subsidized rates and many Indian states like Goa have economies that depend on the sale of liquor as one of their main sources of revenue.

Since the alcohol ban in Bihar in 2016 a parallel underground and illegal hooch industry operates and last year alone around 200 people died drinking illicit hooch manufactured illegally. The CM has been on a direct line of attack by the opposition parties due to these incidents.

Showing no remorse and humanity he went on to say that people who died drinking illicit alcohol should be shown no remorse as they died due to their fault by drinking alcohol despite knowing it can poisonous and is banned in the state. He further denied any compensation or relief by the state in such cases.
