Fast forward to September, Shah Rukh Khan is seen yet again on the big screen, shaking up the box office with the blockbuster film, Jawan. This huge success sealed yet another record for Khan, owing to the massive viewership it gathered.
Directed by Atlee, Jawan boasted a star-studded cast featuring not just Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, but also Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and a special appearance by Deepika Padukone. Released on September 7, 2023, Jawan swiftly climbed the ladder of success at the box office and clinched numerous records. Remarkably, even after its digital premiere on Netflix, it continues to reel in viewers in the cinemas. Still going strong in theaters, this film has broken another record by drawing one of the highest footfalls in the history of Hindi cinema.
Jawan: Monstrous Footfall and Record-Breaking Collections
Based on a social media post by Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel, the lifetime theatrical footfalls for Jawan have reached an astounding 3.92 crores, positioning it among the films with the highest footfall in the history of Hindi cinema. But that’s not it. Despite the OTT release and stiff competition from other major releases, Jawan is still going strong in cinemas. Kadel further reveals that the film has collected approximately Rs. 643.89 Cr domestically, setting a new benchmark as the highest-grossing film in Hindi cinema.
Jawan’s Worldwide Box Office Success
The worldwide collection of Jawan towers at a staggering Rs. 1151.73 Cr, testifying to the actor’s enormous achievement. Not one to rest on his accomplishments, though, Shah Rukh Khan is already gearing up for another big-screen appearance. Post Jawan, he will be seen sharing screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, scheduled for release on December 22, 2023.
