Ayan Mukerji to bring Salman, SRK, and Hrithik together for the first time in ‘War 2’

The YRF spy universe, featuring industry giants like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Kiara Advani, and NTR Jr, is highly anticipated. In an exclusive revelation, India Today has discovered that Ayan Mukerji is set to begin filming ‘War 2’ in October.

As per a source, the muharat for ‘War 2’ has already taken place. Ayan plans to commence filming this month. Despite Hrithik’s current engagement in Italy for ‘Fighter,’ he will soon be back to start shooting for ‘War 2.’ Meanwhile, filming with NTR Jr might initiate in the interim. Additionally, Kiara Advani has been confirmed as the female lead for this action-thriller.

The source further added, “The film is exciting for several reasons but also because Ayan’s directorial will be the first film in the YRF spy universe to bring the three megastars together. The epic Tiger X Pathaan X Kabir union onscreen will happen in ‘War 2’.”

Reports indicate that Salman, playing the role of Tiger, will introduce NTR Jr into the universe. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this yet.

‘War 2’ is expected to hit the screens either next year or in early 2025. The studio is striving for excellence, especially after the remarkable success of their recent releases. ‘Pathaan’ stands out as one of YRF’s highest-grossing Hindi films this year, surpassing the Rs 1000 crore mark in global earnings.

YRF Spy Universe

Supported by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, the YRF Spy Universe is an interconnected cinematic universe based on a series of spy action-thrillers, showcasing different fictional RAW agents. The upcoming instalment in the franchise, “Tiger 3,” starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is approaching its release date, slated for Diwali 2023. Reports suggest that the film will include a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan’s character Pathaan, previously seen alongside Salman Khan’s Tiger in Siddharth Anand’s blockbuster film “Pathaan.”

In March, Sridhar Raghavan, the writer of ‘Pathaan,’ hinted at a new action film featuring the leading women of the YRF Spy Universe – Deepika Padukone’s Rubai in ‘Pathaan’ and Katrina Kaif’s Zoya in the Tiger series. In July, it was reported that Alia Bhatt is the newest addition to YRF’s Spy Universe, set to star in a female-led film scheduled to begin filming in 2024.
