Man found dead at Union Minister’s Lucknow residence, son’s pistol found from the spot

A man was found dead at Union Minister Kaushal Kishore’s home in Lucknow. The minister claimed his son Vikas Kishore had gone to Delhi and was not present in the house when the alleged murder occurred.

The body of a 30-year-old man Vinay Srivastav was found at a house owned by Union Minister and BJP MP Kaushal Kishore on the border of Lucknow Friday morning. The victim is said to be a friend of Minister Kaushal Kishore’s son Vikas Kishore and a licensed pistol recovered from the scene of the crime belongs to the Minister’s son Vikas Kishore.

The alleged murder happened on Friday at 4 a.m. in the village of Begariya near Lucknow. The six people who were in the house at the time are being questioned by police after a FIR was filed.

“An FIR is being registered after a complaint was filed by the deceased’s brother Vikas Srivastava who has alleged his brother was murdered,” Said Rahul Raj, deputy commissioner of police, south district. “ The young man had injury marks on his head. A pistol has also been found, the pistol is said to belong to Kishore, the minister’s son,” he added.

However, the minister of state for housing and urban affairs claimed that his son Vikas had gone to Delhi and was not present in the house when the alleged murder occurred. “People involved in the crime will not be spared. We are standing in support of family members of the deceased. I have no idea who was at the residence when the incident occurred,” said the minister.

“The pistol belongs to Vikas, but he had left it behind since he had gone to Delhi. He would do this every time because the pistol is licenced only in Uttar Pradesh. Only the people who were in the house will be able to say how they got the pistol. We have handed over the CCTV footage. Vinay was a good friend of Vikas and he was like family to us. Vikas was crying when he found out about his death,” he added.

“We are looking into the CCTV footage to investigate the matter,” said DCP.

The victim’s brother told the media that Vikas may be involved in the murder. “Vikas used to take my brother with him wherever he went. But Vikas did not take my brother to Delhi with him and also did not take his pistol. This shows there was some planning. My brother could not kill himself. He added, “ When my brother was shot dead, three men, namely Ajay Rawat, Ankit Verma and Shamim Baba, were present in the house.

I believe arguments took place after which my brother was shot dead. The house belongs to Vikas Kishore and my brother used to stay there. Vikas was not present when the incident occurred but the pistol used in the murder belongs to him.”

The Brother of the victim has denied the possibility of suicide.
