10,000 people gather in Texas to recite Bhagavad Gita to mark Guru Purnima

In a remarkable celebration of unity and devotion, individuals in Texas came together on Guru Purnima to recite the Bhagavad Gita. The event took place in the presence of the esteemed spiritual saint Pujya Ganapathy Sachidananda ji

On July 3, Over 10,000 individuals gathered at the Allen East Center in Texas for reciting the Bhagavad Gita on the occasion of Guru Purnima. The event was organized by Yoga Sangeeta Trust America and SGS Geeta Foundation, it showcased a powerful display of unity and devotion.

Participants from diverse backgrounds united in a sacred atmosphere, immersing themselves in the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. This monumental event left an indelible mark, emphasising the enduring significance of ancient scriptures and inspiring a path toward enlightenment.

A video documented the heartwarming scene, showcasing the collective celebration where individuals of all ages, from children to adults, joined in harmony.

The recitation ceremony took place in the presence of the esteemed spiritual saint Pujya Ganapathy Sachidananda ji who is avadhuta of Avadhoota Datta Peetham Ashram in Mysuru. The Ashram is an internationally recognized organization dedicated to spiritual, cultural, and social welfare activities. According to the organization’s website, Pujya Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is the Founder Pontiff of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, located at the ashram. Sri Swamiji is renowned for his meditative music and is considered a divine guide promoting ancient Vedic traditions.

Guru Purnima, an auspicious Hindu festival, holds deep significance as a tribute to gurus(teachers). It is observed on the first full moon following the summer solstice, in the Hindu month of Ashad (July to August). This occasion is celebrated not only by Hindus but also by Jains and Buddhists in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. On Guru Purnima, devotees express profound devotion and gratitude towards their gurus, seeking their blessings and guidance on the spiritual path. It serves as an opportunity to honor and acknowledge the impact of these spiritual teachers in one’s life.
