Prime Minister Narendra Modi tops the list of most popular world leaders with 71% approval rating

PM Modi left behind prominent global leaders like US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron German chancellor Olaf Scholz and others, revealed the survey.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the list of most popular world leaders. According to the global approval rating released by Morning Consult Political Intelligence, PM Narendra Modi has a 71 per cent approval rating. Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Mexico) is second in the list with a 66 per cent approval rating.

On the list of the 13 world leaders, US president Joe Biden is ranked at number six with a 43 per cent rating. Biden is followed by Canadian President Justin Trudeau also at 43 per cent and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison at 41 per cent.

Even in November 2021, Prime Minister Modi had topped the list of the most popular world leaders.

Morning Consult Political Intelligence is currently tracking the approval ratings of government leaders and country trajectories in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In the last two years, PM Modi’s approval rating touched a high of 84 per cent on May 2, 2020. His approval rating was at the lowest on May 7, 2021 with 63 per cent when the second wave of coronavirus was at its peak in the country.

At 43 per cent, US President Joe Biden’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest during his presidency. After holding above 50 per cent in his first months in office, Biden’s popularity began dropping in mid-August.
