In the viral video, the woman, a vlogger, appeared increasingly uncomfortable as a man approached her while she was recording her visit to Hong Kong. Initially, he seemed to be asking for assistance, but the situation escalated as he began to force her to accompany him, repeatedly insisting, “Listen, listen baby, come with me,” while attempting to physically restrain her. Despite her firm and repeated refusals, the man persisted, pushing her to go with him. The woman pleaded with him not to hurt her, and her repeated cries of “NO, NO, NO” went unheeded as the man continued to pressure her. This disturbing encounter unfolded in a subway stairwell, where the accused pinned the woman against a wall. In desperation, she called out for help, causing the man to flee. The entire incident was broadcast in real-time, with viewers commenting on the livestream.

Following the incident, the Hong Kong Police arrested the accused, a 46-year-old man, on Tuesday, September 12, as reported by the South China Morning Post. The man, employed as a waiter, faces charges of indecent assault and outraging public decency.

The incident has generated significant public outcry on social media, with some users identifying the man in the video as Amit Jariyal, a resident of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. However, the restaurant issued a statement clarifying that Amit Jariyal was no longer a part of their team and had not been for a year, unequivocally condemning his behavior.

Regrettably, this incident is not an isolated occurrence. In December of the previous year, a South Korean YouTuber faced harassment by a man while live-streaming on the streets of Mumbai. The video footage captured the accused forcibly grabbing the YouTuber’s hand and attempting to kiss her as she continued to record. Subsequently, two individuals were apprehended in connection with the incident.

These distressing incidents underscore the vulnerability of women, particularly those in the public eye, to harassment and molestation.
