The much-anticipated futuristic flying car was launched in Dubai on Wednesday. The flying car ‘X2’ has been manufactured by Chinese electronic vehicle (EV) maker Xpeng Inc. The two-seater EV is capable of vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and is lifted by two propellers present on each corner of the vehicle.

The car’s unmanned test flight was successfully completed in 90 minutes. The company’s general manager Minguan Qui informed, that they are moving step-by-step to introduce the car in the international market.

As per company officials, Dubai was chosen for the launch of the car as it is the “most innovative city in the world” and this lays down a strong foundation towards an important base for the next generation of flying cars.

The eVTOL car emits zero carbon dioxide and is designed with low-altitude city capabilities in focus. X2 will come with a maximum flight speed of 130 kilometers per hour and comes with an intelligent flight control system and autonomous flight capabilities. The two-seater flying EV is capped at 760 kg take off weight and weighs 560 kg without occupancy.
