Need tickets for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023? Here’s how you can get them

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 India starts on the 5th of October.

The cricketing world is abuzz as the time to book the tickets for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 which is scheduled to be hosted in India is now here. Earlier, ICC had announced that it would be releasing tickets in a phased manner from 25th August onwards.

The tournament, scheduled to begin on October 5 and conclude on November 19, promises to deliver a thrilling spectacle as ten formidable teams compete for the coveted title. The World Cup also comes back to India after 12 long years, who won it the last time it was held here.

ICC Reveal matches dates for tickets booking

The first day to book tickets will be on the 25th of August when people will be able to book the Non-India warm-up and all Non-India event matches from 8 PM onwards. The further booking schedule is as follows:

30th August from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum

31st August from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Chennai, Delhi and Pune

1st September from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai

2nd September from 8 PM IST onwards: India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata

3rd September from 8 PM IST onwards: India match at Ahmedabad

15th September from 8 PM IST onwards: Semi-Finals and Final

But this is not all. There’s a surprise for you if you’re a Mastercard user. BCCI, on Wednesday, announced that a select few users who use Mastercard debit or credit cards will be able to purchase the tickets more than 24 hours prior to when the tickets open up for the general public.

“In line with ensuring a seamless and comprehensive ticketing experience for fans, the sales process for this iconic tournament will be introduced in a series of carefully managed phases. The initial phase entails an exclusive 24-hour window designated exclusively for ICC’s commercial partner, Mastercard,” BCCI said in a release.

Mastercard users will be able to book tickets at 6 PM on selected days before the tickets go public. While the specially reserved tickets for Mastercard users for Non-India warm-up and event matches went live last evening (Thursday), the tickets for Team India matches and Semi-Finals and Finals will be open for booking according to the following schedule:

29th August from 6 PM IST onwards: Mastercard Pre-sale – All India matches excluding warm-up games

14th September from 6 PM IST onwards: Mastercard Pre-sale – Semi-Finals and Final

The tickets will be exclusively on sale on Book My Show, where matches can be searched either venue-wise or team-wise. BCCI CEO (Interim) Hemang Amin said: “As we approach the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, a pinnacle event in this year’s international calendar, we are thrilled to unveil BookMyShow as the ticketing platform.
