World’s tallest Ambedkar statue unveiled in Andhra Pradesh

Compared to Sardar Vallabhai Patel's Statue of Unity, which is 597 feet tall, the statue is exclusively 206 feet tall.

The Andhra Pradesh government is going to unveil the world’s tallest statue in honour of Dr. BR Ambedkar, the man behind the Indian Constitution today on January 19th. The 206-foot statue will be officially unveiled at Vijayawada’s Swaraj Maidan grounds at 6 p.m.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is thrilled to be commemorating this important milestone, has referred to the monument as the “Statue of Social Justice”. He emphasised the continued influence of Ambedkar on our common awareness and called on everyone to respect his legacy as a group.

The imposing statue, which represents Bhim Rao’s principles, is evidence of the government’s dedication to carrying out social programmes that support his philosophy. Ambedkar’s revolutionary views from a century ago were emphasised by Chief Minister Reddy, who asserted their continuing effect on the social, economic, and political history of the nation, particularly with regard to women.

Notably, a 19-foot monument of B R Ambedkar was unveiled in a Maryland town close to Washington, D.C., last year.
