Thief recites Hanuman Chalisa before stealing from temple’s donation box

The thief initially entered the temple and recited Hanuman Chalisa before taking his chance and stealing ₹5,000.

A burglar who stole Rs 5,000 from a Hanuman temple in the Rewari area of Haryana was caught reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and giving a donation of Rs 10 before stealing from the temple’s donation box, according to police. The entire incident was captured on camera by a CCTV system at a temple in Dharuhera town.

In the video, he was first seen entering the Hanuman temple. Then, as followers gather and offer prayers, he sits down and starts reciting the Hanuman Chalisa for around ten minutes. He presents an Rs. 10 offering at the deity’s feet in the presence of the temple’s priest.

When no one was present in the inner section of the temple, the burglar took advantage of the chance to break open the donation box and fled with Rs 5,000. That evening, the temple doors were closed as usual since the priest had no idea that a theft had occurred. When he returned the following morning, the lock on the donation box had been smashed.

As the authorities examined the CCTV footage, they found that the burglar had performed the Hanuman Chalisa and laid some money at the feet of God prior to committing the theft. The police have filed a report against the thief and are on a hunt to nab the burglar.
