PM Modi’s vision: India aims for moon landing by 2040 and space station by 2035

He emphasized sending a person to the Moon by 2040, establishing a space station by 2035, and advancing missions to Venus and Mars. The meeting, attended by Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, ISRO Chairman S Somanath, and other officials, reviewed the progress of the Gaganyaan Mission and future space exploration endeavors.

The meeting began with a comprehensive overview of the Gaganyaan Mission, focusing on critical technologies like human-rated launch vehicles and system qualifications. Notably, around 20 major tests, including three uncrewed missions of the Human Rated Launch Vehicle (HLVM3), are in the pipeline. The first demonstration flight of the Crew Escape System Test Vehicle is set for October 21, marking a significant step toward the mission’s launch in 2025.

Furthermore, ISRO has announced the TV-D1 test flight scheduled for October 21 between 7 to 9 am. This test will be conducted at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh and will assess the crew module intended for Indian astronauts during the upcoming human spaceflight.
