Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin, PV Sindhu’s Racket & Lovlina’s gloves gifted to PM now put on auction by govt

Current bids range from Rs. 15 lakh for T-shirts to Rs. 10 crore for Neeraj's Javelin and the proceeds will go towards 'Namami Gange Mission'.

Now anyone can buy Indian Olympian’s sporting gear which was initially gifted to PM Narendra modi buy athletes and currently is being auctioned by the government.

The proceeds from the e-auction will go towards the “Namami Gange Mission” aimed at conserving and rejuvenating the Ganga while the permission of all the athletes has been taken by the government as they will also be signing the products auctioned.

From Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra’s javelin to Badminton player PV Sindhu’s racket, the items of India’s Tokyo Olympics champions have received the highest bids at an e-auction organized by the Ministry of Culture.

One can participate in the e-auction by visiting the “pmmementos.gov.in” website. The last date of bidding is October 7.

Currently the highest bids ae of Rs. 10 crores for each: Lovlina’s gloves, Neeraj’s Javelin, Sindhu’s racket, Sumit Antil’s Javelin, Yogesh Khatuniya’s Discus, Women Hockey team’s stick.

On the block are as many as 1,300 items. These include the t-shirt worn by paralympic shooter Avani Lakhera (with a base price of Rs 15 lakh), a stole bearing the signatures of Tokyo Olympic players (base price of Rs 90 lakh), the saber used by fencer Bhavani Devi etc.

Besides sports gear and equipment Olympians and Paralympians, the memorabilia also include a replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir presented by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a wooden replica of the Chardham presented by Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, a replica of the Rudraksha Convention Centre in Varanasi, and a memento of the Victory Flame presented by General Bipin Rawat celebrating 20 years of the Kargil War.

Also up for auction are models of prominent buildings, sculptures, paintings, and souvenirs that the Prime Minister received from visiting dignitaries and during important functions over the last two years.
