Chairman and Director of Dabur Group implicated in Mahadev betting app case

The Mumbai Police have filed FIR in the Mahadev betting app case, naming 31 individuals as accused, including Dabur Group Chairman Mohit Burman and Director Gaurav Burman.

The Mumbai Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the Mahadev betting app case, naming 31 individuals as accused, including Dabur Group Chairman Mohit Burman and Director Gaurav Burman. The FIR was registered on November 7, based on a complaint by social activist Prakash Bankar against the Khiladi app, a subsidiary of the Mahadev app.

According to the FIR accessed by India Today, industrialists Mohit Burman and Gaurav Burman are among the accused. Mohit Burman’s address in the FIR is mentioned in Fort Mumbai, where one of his investment company offices is located. The complaint alleges links between Mohit Burman, Gaurav Burman, and one of the bookies involved in match-fixing in cricket leagues.

The FIR states that the Mahadev app is run and promoted by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, along with other associates and partners. Chander Agarwal and Dinesh Khambat, named as London residents, are identified as the main bookies for match-fixing in cricket matches held in India. Chander Agarwal is alleged to have backdoor partnerships in cricket leagues with support from Hemant Sood in Dubai and Rohit Kumar Murgoi.

The complaint suggests that Mohit Burman and Gaurav Burman have connections to Dinesh Khambat and Rohit Kumar Murgoi. It also claims that the industrialists have equity stakes in one of the teams in the cricket league and have partnered with another accused.

Furthermore, the complainant anticipates that the investigation will reveal more details and evidence regarding the industrialists’ involvement in match-fixing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is actively investigating the Mahadev betting app case, having already filed a chargesheet that names 14 individuals, including Sourabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, and others.

In addition to industrialists, the FIR implicates Bollywood actors who had promoted the illegal betting app. Among them are Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Leone, and others. The Enforcement Directorate’s investigation adds a layer of scrutiny to these actors’ involvement in promoting the app.

To recap, the FIR in the Mahadev betting app case brings serious allegations against prominent individuals, including Dabur Group Chairman Mohit Burman and Director Gaurav Burman. The complaint suggests their links to bookies involved in match-fixing in cricket leagues and their equity stakes in a cricket team. The ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate is expected to unveil more evidence in this high-profile case.
