Voting Without a Voter ID? It’s Possible

Contrary to popular belief, every eligible Indian citizen can exercise their right to vote without having to present a voter ID. Yes, that’s correct.

“Indeed, all a citizen needs to do to vote, is register by filling and submitting – either online or offline – Form-6 to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the relevant assembly constituency. Once their name appears on the electoral roll, they are eligible to vote even without a voter ID. However, they will need to bring along a valid alternative document.”
