Amit Shah lays the foundation of 108-feet Ram statue in Andhra Pradesh

The statue will come up in Mantralayam village on the banks of the Tungabhadra river and is expected to serve as an emblem of 'sanatan dharma' to the world for generations to come.

Amidst the near-completion of the grand Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya, Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually laid the foundation stone for what is said to be the tallest statue of Sri Rama in the country. The statue will be constructed in Mantralayam, located in Nandyal district.Home Minister Amit Shah took part in a significant event on Sunday. The 108 feet tall statue of Lord Ram in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh will cost over Rs 500 crore.

The statue will come up in Mantralayam village on the banks of the Tungabhadra river and is expected to serve as an emblem of ‘sanatan dharma’ to the world for generations to come. It is also seen as a means to bolster the Vaishnava tradition not only in India but also globally. The ambitious project, spread across 10 acres, is scheduled for completion in two and a half years. This location holds historical significance as it was the birthplace of the illustrious Vijayanagara empire, which valiantly reclaimed the southern regions by expelling the invaders and upholding the ideals of “Swadesh and Swadharma.”

During the event of laying the foundation stone for the grand statue of Lord Ram in Mantralayam, Andhra Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted various initiatives undertaken under the Mantralayam Das Sahitya Prakalp. These initiatives encompass housing, Anna Daanam (food donation), Pran Daanam (organ donation), Vidya Daanam (education donation), drinking water provisions, and cow protection.

In his address, the minister also paid his respects to prominent spiritual figures like Mathadhish of the Math, Saint Madhvacharya ji, Saint Raghavendra Swami ji, and acknowledged the rich Vaishnava tradition of the South and all its revered saints.
