According to the statement, public information is being included in Braille script for those who are visually impaired, and ramps are being built in government and private buildings for the differently-abled. The government hopes that women, senior folks, and divyangjan will find this convenient and safe.

The Safe City Project

Senior Citizen Day Care Centres are being established by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh as part of the Safe City Project. The first phase involves the establishment of contemporary day care centres across all 17 local corporations. At the moment, there is just one day care centre in functioning, and four others are being built on a war footing. According to the announcement, development on 12 other day-care centres will soon start as well.

The needs of those who are visually challenged are being considered by the Public Works Department. Essential details about public spaces, private and public buildings, and junctions will be included in Braille script. In addition, divyangjan-friendly signage is being put in place at ramps in buildings and at zebra crossings at intersections. According to the announcement, the Public Works Department finished the installation of signage at 135 zebra crossings in 17 municipal corporations. In addition, the agency has eliminated barriers for the divyangjans in 119 of its managed facilities. Two buildings in Gautam Buddh Nagar have had barriers removed for the divyangjan community, and seven spots in the area now have signage for zebra crossings.

In 17 municipal corporations, the Health and Family Welfare Department designated 54 locations for ramp construction; 49 of those locations have had work completed. In a similar vein, work on building a ramp at one site in Gautam Buddh Nagar has been found and is underway.
