Fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya recently made headlines by joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Bharat initiative. This initiative took place on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, emphasizing the importance of sanitation. Ankit Baiyanpuriya is known for his catchphrase ‘Ram Ram Sareya Ne’ and has gained popularity for promoting traditional and indigenous workout methods.

Ankit Baiyanpuria’s Background

Ankit Baiyanpuria hails from a middle-class family. His father works as a farmer, and his mother is a homemaker. His journey as a fitness influencer began on YouTube, where he initially created funny videos in Haryanvi on his channel, ‘Haryanvi Khagad.’ However, during the COVID-19 lockdown, he shifted his focus to fitness content. Renaming his channel to ‘Ankit Baiyanpuria,’ he started creating videos on diets and workouts. In June, his YouTube channel reached 100,000 subscribers, earning him a silver play button from YouTube.

Promoting Traditional Workouts

Ankit Baiyanpuria is known for promoting traditional wrestling workouts such as sapate (Desi wrestling burpees), rope climbing, and running. He trains in his village with his coach, Krishan Pahalwan. His official YouTube channel now has over 980,000 followers, making him one of India’s most popular fitness influencers. This journey led him from being a food delivery executive to achieving fame in the fitness industry.

The 75 Hard Challenge

Ankit Baiyanpuria shot to fame on social media when he took on the 75 Hard Challenge on June 27. This challenge, originally created by American entrepreneur and author Andy Frisella in 2020, includes daily tasks like taking a selfie, adhering to a strict diet with no alcohol or cheat meals, drinking a gallon of water, reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book, and completing two 45-minute workouts, one of which must be outdoors, regardless of weather conditions. Failing to complete any of these tasks would require restarting the challenge from Day 1.

Other Achievements

Baiyanpuria serves as the official athlete for Bull Nutrition Cafe in Gurugram and promotes MuscleBlaze products in his videos. Rumors in August 2023 suggested that he might appear in an episode of MTV Roadies. He also boasts a significant Instagram following, with about 5 million followers, where he regularly shares his progress in the 75 Hard Challenge through Instagram reels.

Meeting PM Modi

Ankit Baiyanpuria’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a significant moment for him. In a conversation with ANI, he expressed his excitement and shared that he had wanted to meet the Prime Minister for a long time. He even messaged the Prime Minister’s Office expressing his desire to meet PM Modi, and they responded positively. During their meeting, which lasted for 30-40 minutes, they performed ‘Shramdaan’ together and discussed Ankit’s workout and diet.

The Cleanliness Drive

The video shared by PM Modi on social media showed him and Ankit Baiyanpuriya wielding brooms, cleaning, picking up trash, and engaging in conversation. PM Modi emphasized that the initiative was not just about cleanliness but also about promoting fitness and well-being, creating a ‘Swachh and Swasth Bharat’ (clean and healthy India).

Nationwide Participation

Apart from Ankit Baiyanpuriya and PM Modi, several other BJP leaders and Union ministers across the country participated in cleanliness programs. According to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, more than 9.20 lakh sites across the country were adopted for this mega cleanliness drive.
