Indian student stabbed in US gym: 0-5% chance of survival

An attacker has been arrested after stabbing Indian student Varun, 24, in a gym in Indiana, leaving him critically wounded.

Varun, a 24-year-old student of Indian descent, was fatally attacked with a knife at a public gym in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The event happened early on Sunday, October 29, and the authorities are presently looking into the attackers’ motivations.

The attacker

Jordan Andrad, 24, has been recognised as the attacker and is being held by the police, according to an article published in the NWIU Times.

Andrad, the attacker, has been taken into custody and is being charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, Andrad admitted to the police that he had gone to the gym the morning before the incident and asked for a massage.

When he first entered the massage room, he saw Varun and considered him “a little weird” and possibly dangerous.

Andrad asserted that he responded to the perceived threat in the “right way.”

“Andrad then described (Varun) as a threat to him, so he ‘just reacted,'” the police said.

Medical attention

Varun was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne for emergency medical attention after suffering a serious injury to his temple. He was given “zero to five per cent” chance of survival.

According to the report, ‘Varun was attacked with a knife by his attacker. He was ultimately taken to a Fort Wayne hospital due to the severity of his injury and was reportedly given a zero to five per cent chance of survival. Varun’s condition is said to be serious after the violent attack.’
