Hyderabad Rape accused found dead on Railway tracks by Telangana Police

The Telangana ministers had already claimed they ‘wont leave him alive’

A massive manhunt had been launched by the Telangana Police in the brutal rape and murder case of 6-year-old Hyderabad girl and a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to arrest of the accused hah also been announced. As many as 15 teams have been formed and sent to Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

The victim, a daughter of an auto driver, went missing on Thursday evening, police said. Her body was later found in an isolated place in Singareni.

When asked about the case pertaining to the alleged rape and murder of a 6-year-old in Hyderabad’s Saidabad, Malla Reddy, Labour Minister of Telangana said, “We will definitely arrest him [the accused] and will do the encounter.”

On Monday, Malkajgiri MP and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy, who had met the victim’s family, made a similar remark on the ‘encounter’ of the rape accused.

The man, Raju, was found dead on railway tracks this morning, two days after a Telangana minister’s warning about an “encounter”. The police say the man was trying to run away when he jumped in front of a train.

The heinous incident has triggered widespread outrage in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the State with various political parties and youth groups staging protests demanding justice for the minor girl.

In December 2019, the police in Hyderabad were accused of extra-judicial killing. Four men accused in the rape and murder case of a 27-year-old veterinarian were shot dead by the police on NH-44 near Hyderabad.
