MP woman gets 10-year jail for false rape case’ because it leads to arrest without evidence

She filed case in 2017, even went on to the extent of giving false evidence & made him suffer for years.

A sessions court in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, has found a 45-year-old woman, Seema Bai, guilty of filing a false rape case against a relative and has sentenced her to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. The convict, who was out on bail, was taken into custody immediately following the verdict. The prosecution argued that Seema Bai had orchestrated the false accusation against her nephew-in-law in an attempt to seize property.

Seema Bai, a widow residing in Barkheda Kotapai village, approximately 55km from Indore, filed the complaint on June 3, 2017, at the Barotha police station, located on the outskirts of Dewas district headquarters.

The police promptly registered a case based on her allegations. However, during the investigation, it was determined that the accusation was unfounded, as asserted by the prosecution. Additionally, false evidence was presented in court during the rape case trial.

Local court concluded that the rape complaint was fabricated and subsequently ordered

On June 18, 2019, a local court concluded that the rape complaint was fabricated and subsequently ordered a case against Seema under IPC sections 182, 211, and 195 for providing false information and producing fabricated evidence.

Rajendra Singh Bhadauriya, the district prosecution officer, stated, “The court of second additional sessions judge, Dewas, convicted Seema Bai Singh, under IPC section 195 for lodging a fake rape complaint and producing wrong evidence before court and sentenced her to ten years’ rigorous imprisonment. She has also been fined Rs 2,000.” The trial was effectively led by ADPO Jayanti Puranik.
