Record single-day spike COVID19 cases globally, India records 38,902 cases, as tally surges over 10.77 lakh
India’s coronavirus tally surged to over 10.77 lakh as the country reported over 38,000 Covid-19 cases for the first time in a single day. India on Sunday registered a spike of 38,902 cases which took India’s coronavirus caseload to 10,77,618.
In the past 24 hours, 543 people have succumbed to the coronavirus infection. The total coronavirus positive cases in India now stand at 10,77,618 including 3,73,379 active cases.
While on the other hand, the number of new cases of coronavirus rose by almost 260,000 in 24 hours — the largest single-day increase since the pandemic began, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
The situation has been turning grim each day especially in India where Community spread is being blamed for the sudden exponential rise in cases.
