Lamborghini unveils its most powerful car and brand’s first EV ‘Lanzador’

Staying true to its origins, the Lanzador concept EV draws significant inspiration from Lamborghini's earlier models and is set to rival Tesla's cyber truck under the Ultra GT category.

Lamborghini has unveiled its latest electric car concept named the Lamborghini Lanzador. This concept showcases a four-seater electric crossover SUV, offering a glimpse of the carmaker’s forthcoming all-electric vehicle. The design of the concept shares similarities with other models in Lamborghini’s lineup.

One could make a valid case that the Lanzador doesn’t adhere to Lamborghini’s typical aesthetic standards, marking a significant departure from its previous four-door concept, the Estoque. Nevertheless, it does draw inspiration from other Lamborghini models. Notably, the front of the Lanzador bears a strong resemblance to the Urus, featuring a raised bumper, sharp front end, and air dams with similar contours. It’s worth noting that these air dams seem to incorporate enclosed panels, which sets them apart from those on the Urus.

In terms of its profile, the design is a blend of various elements. The presence of square-shaped wheel arches and side cladding akin to the Urus is evident. However, the body shape mirrors the sleekness found in the carmaker’s sports cars, characterized by its streamlined design and elongated rear section. Taken together, it presents a fusion that could be likened to a combination of a Huracan and an Urus.

The rear aspect is distinctly aimed at imparting a muscular appearance to this crossover. Notably, the vehicle also features a trio of insignia tail lamps, a design element reminiscent of the Sian FKP 37 model.

Specifications:

Internally, the Lanzador concept embodies a futuristic essence. The dashboard, predominantly black, boasts silver and golden accents, featuring a distinctive curvature at its centre. The steering wheel mirrors this colour scheme and is positioned in front of a fully digital instrument cluster. Interestingly, while there isn’t a centrally mounted infotainment display, such a screen is present for the convenience of the front passenger. Adding to the modern cockpit ambience, there exists a central tunnel adorned with minimalist geometric controls. Notably, a Lamborghini touch is maintained with the inclusion of a red flip-cover start-stop button, preserving the brand’s essence.

The concept features sporty bucket seats adorned in a combination of grey and golden tones, catering to all occupants. While these seats harmoniously align with the cabin’s design, it’s plausible that the production version of the Lanzador will opt for comparatively more conventional seating. This adjustment would ensure comfortable passenger accommodation while still delivering a sporty and exhilarating experience.

Presently, detailed information regarding the battery pack propelling the Lanzador remains limited. However, Lamborghini has disclosed that the vehicle is equipped with dual electric motors, positioned on each axle, resulting in an all-wheel drive configuration. According to Lamborghini’s specifications, this electric motor arrangement yields an impressive output of over one megawatt, equating to a remarkable 1360PS.

Positioned as a future-forward electric vehicle (EV), the Lamborghini Lanzador concept incorporates an array of sustainably sourced and recycled materials in its construction. Within the cabin, components crafted from 3D-printed recycled fibres contribute to an environmentally-conscious approach. Moreover, the utilization of regenerated carbon is noteworthy, as it serves to curtail the requirement for new carbon fibre, all the while maintaining the material’s characteristic resilience and lightweight attributes.
