Rylee Stuart a 13-year-old teenager, who lives in the Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia was enjoying her favorite pack of Doritos when she found a unique chip that was bloated and puffed around all three points of the triangular nacho chips in a 3-D manner.
She then captured footage of the chip and posted it on TikTok, where it went viral gaining 4M views. People then suggested posting it on e-bay which she did for 0.99$, soon it started attracting bids as high as 100,000 dollars. The listing, however, was later taken down after it attracted a lot of attention online and now, Doritos has decided to offer a $20,000 reward to Rylee.
“I was about to eat it, and I thought I better save it for later,” Stuart told 9News.
“Dad is saying that since he bought the packet, it’s his. But I ate the packet and found it, so I believe it is mine,” the teen added.
“We’ve been so impressed with Rylee’s boldness and entrepreneurial spirit, so we wanted to make sure the Stuart family were rewarded for their creativity and love for Doritos,” Doritos Chief Marketing Officer Vandita Pandey said, according to the report.
Well, selling it for 100K dollars on e-bay would have been a better option for the teen or an even better option would have been keeping it safely with her as a long-term investment.
