LPG cylinder prices hiked again, twice in 15 days and up by Rs. 200 since January

BJP government however is silent & refusing to address the inflating costs as prices are again increased by Rs. 25

The prices of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) domestic cylinders were hiked again by ₹25 apiece on Wednesday. After the latest hike, a domestic cylinder (14.2 kilograms) would now cost ₹884.50 apiece in Delhi.

The price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has also increased by ₹75 per cylinder.

In Mumbai, the rate of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is now ₹884.5, it was previously sold at ₹859.50. For a cooking gas cylinder in Chennai, you will have to pay ₹900.50 from today, which was being at ₹875.50 till yesterday.

For an LPG cylinder in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, you will have to pay ₹897.5.

The price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder was hiked by Rs 25 per cylinder with effect from August 17. Earlier on July 1st, the price of the LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 25.50.

Currently, the government provides 12 subsidised LPG cylinders of 14.2 kilograms to a household every year. The amount of the subsidy provided by the government on the annual quota of 12 refills varies from month to month.

Between January 1 and September 1, the price of cooking gas cylinders has gone up by ₹190 each. More than doubled in seven years

LPG prices in the country are determined by prevailing crude oil prices in international markets and the rupee-dollar exchange rates. The hike in the LPG comes at a time when petrol and diesel rates are at record highs across the country. Petrol prices have already crossed the RS 100 mark in the country.
