India’s vaccine programme pays off, as many countries come forward to help India beat it’s second wave of coronavirus

With over 586 lakh doses sent to over 70+ countries by India’s vaccine Maitri programme, India’s efforts have already started paying off, as many countries have offered help to India in it’s battle against the second wave of coronavirus.

In a soft diplomatic face-off between India and US this week, US has successfully succumbed to Indian diplomacy and world pressure, the Biden administration has not only agreed to provide the specific raw materials required for vaccine manufacturing by SII but also therapeutics, rapid diagnostic test kits, ventilators, and Personal Protective Equipment on an immediate basis.

Ever since May 2014, India’s foreign policies has undergone a decisive shift and has seen an active engagement worldwide, the Prime Minister’s visits to foreign countries has brought New Delhi to the forefront of global diplomacy and the efforts have been paying off.

After a telephonic conversation took place between India’s NSA Doval and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan, US has succumbed to international pressure, shifting it’s arrogant-aggressive stance to more soft, helping behaviour towards India.

India which has supplied vaccines to over 70 countries is currently battling through the second wave of coronavirus, amid which, at least 13 countries have come forward to help India as the country suffers critical oxygen shortages.

United Kingdom has offered 495 oxygen concentrators, 120 Non-invasive ventilators, therapeutics, dexamethasone, and 20 manual ventilators.

4 cryogenic tanks for transporting oxygen being were offered by Singapore, more assistance is expected in the coming days like oxygen concentrators and ventilator machines.

Saudi Arabia offered 80 metric tonnes of oxygen in 4 cryogenic tanks

France has offered oxygen supplies and ventilators.

Russia has offered oxygen concentrators, oxygen tanks, 300,000 Remdesivir injection, drugs and vaccines.

Germany has offered oxygen supplies, 24 oxygen generation plants, oxygen tankers.

The Prime Minister’s foreign visits have not only showcased India as a centre of opportunity but also brought New Delhi to the forefront of global diplomacy. The hard work on the foreign policy front had prepared the ground for such difficult times.

By all accounts, a confident India has stepped back into the world arena over the past 6 years and India’s status as a leading power among nations is unquestionable today.
