After all the messy drama, Kim and Kanye have finally divorced each other and reached a settlement in which they will share custody of their kids.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye have settled their messy divorce, this will avert the trial which was about to undergo next month.
According to the papers obtained by the press, Kanye West will pay $200,000 a month in child support to Kim Kardashian. Although the two will share joint custody of their four children – North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 – Kardashian will receive child support as the children are expected to spend most of their time with her.
The couple got married in the Renaissance fort in the Italian city of Florence in 2014. It was the 3rd marriage of Kim while the first for Kanye. West and Kardashian had a prenuptial agreement that kept their property largely separate, according to The Guardian. Neither will pay the other spousal support.
It was Kim who filed for divorce last year, citing irreconcilable differences.
A judge declared the 2 legally single in March this year. But the issue of their finances and properties was about to be decided by a trial. The trial was going to begin on 14 December this year.
In an interview with Vogue, Kim discussed the divorce with Kanye. She had expressed, “For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important, to be honest with yourself about what makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you.”
