In a broad daylight murder, Umesh Pal, the key witness of the sensational BSP MLA Raju Pal 2005 murder case, was shot dead in the Dhoomanganj police station area of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

The assailants were reportedly waiting for Umesh Pal outside his house and as soon as Umesh came out of the backseat of a Hyundai Creta SUV, rounds were fired on Pal and deadly crude bombs were thrown at the SUV.

In the incident, Umesh Pal and a shooter, identified as Sandeep Nishad, died. Two policemen, deployed for Pal’s security, were also left seriously injured.

Pal was rushed to Swarooprani Nehru Hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

As soon as Pal reached home after the high court hearing on Friday, around four to five assailants perpetrated this gruesome murder. The attack, which took place outside of Pal’s house, was caught on CCTV cameras, and the video is spine-chilling.
